Forty-eight to six. That's a number you don't have to explain to anybody.
Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon hosted CIVICA NV on Thursday, Oct. 29, kickoff at 5:30 p.m. PT, and the thing was settled by a 42-point margin. The Wolves got on the board for six. Pinecrest got eight times that. There's no clever way to dress up a final like this one, and there's no reason to try, because the arithmetic does all the work a recap usually has to do by itself.
Here's the context that matters: Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon sits at No. 8 in the Nevada Power 10 on the Oct. 26 board. That's where it stood three days before kickoff, and then it went out and turned a Thursday night at home into a 42-point result.
CIVICA NV leaves Henderson with six points and a long drive back up to North Las Vegas. Pinecrest leaves with 48 and the lights still on.
Some nights the box score is the headline. This was one of them.
