Ten teams, ten holds. That is the whole move column on the Utah Top 10 this week, and it is the first time this season the board has not turned over a single place.
It is not because nothing happened. Eight of the ten won, four of them by 28 or more. Corner Canyon lost 38-24 at Liberty of Peoria, Arizona, and stays first because nobody in Utah has beaten it. Skyridge went to Henderson and won 24-20 at Liberty, the only out-of-state road win anybody in this state brought home.
| # | Team | Rec | Move |
|---|---|---|---|

| 3 | Skyridge | 3-1 | hold |
| 4 | West (SLC) | 4-0 | hold |
| 5 | American Fork | 3-1 | hold |
| 6 | Orem | 2-2 | hold |
| 7 | Herriman | 4-0 | hold |
| 8 | Lone Peak | 2-2 | hold |
| 9 | Ridgeline | 4-0 | hold |
| 10 | Timpview | 2-2 | hold |
What the hold is hiding
Mountain Ridge is the story the chips do not tell. It beat Cedar Valley 59-0, it is 4-0, it has allowed 33 points all season, and this week it went on our national board for the first time, at 51. Skyridge joined it at 75. Corner Canyon, which has been there all along, sits 28th.
West of Salt Lake is 4-0 with 33 points allowed and a 21-13 win over Archbishop Riordan of California on August 28 that nothing else on this board matches for quality. It is fourth.
Three unbeaten teams are sitting below three teams with losses
Herriman is 4-0 at seventh and Ridgeline is 4-0 at ninth, behind a 3-1 American Fork and a 2-2 Orem. That is what a no-movement ruling costs, and it is worth naming rather than hiding.
The case for the teams above them is schedule. American Fork beat Timpview and Pleasant Grove and lost only at Mater Dei. Both of Orem's losses are by seven or fewer, one of them to Mater Dei, national 13. Nobody else on this board has played that slate. Whether that outweighs four wins is the argument, and it is a fair one to have.
Lone Peak holds at eighth after losing 38-14 at home to Bishop Gorman. We are not going to dress that one up. It was 28-7 at half.
Timpview is 2-2 and won 48-3 at Payson. Its classification question is settled: 5A, Region 7.
