These are not opinion rankings. Nobody at SPIN picks who is No. 1. POP, Production Over Potential, is calculated from what each player has actually done this season, game by game, from the box scores of his games, weighed for who he did it against and where. Stars, offers, highlight tapes and reputation are not in the math. Two things are: what he produced, and the competition he produced it against.
That is why big numbers against weak opponents do not rank high here, and why a big game against a great opponent is the most valuable thing on these boards. Consistency counts too: a full season of steady games is worth more than one monster night surrounded by quiet ones. The rules are set before the numbers come in, and they apply to every player in every region the same way.
Below: the Top 10 at every position across Northern California through Week 10, games of Oct. 15 to 17 included, plus the Two-Way board. The full Top 25 at every position, a Top 10 for every CIF section and every rated player in the region live on the Player Rankings tab, updated every Wednesday.
What changed this week
New No. 1 on the defensive line. Case Borges of Tracy is rated for the first time this week and lands at No. 1 at 95. Against Lodi on Friday he was credited with 21 tackles, six tackles for loss and three sacks. Blake Meggers of Oak Ridge, Brixton Bridger of Clovis and Bret Roberts of Oak Ridge are all at 95 behind him; the order inside a tie comes from the unrounded rating.
Nate Anzelc, Oak Ridge, is No. 1 on two boards. He moves from No. 4 to No. 1 among defensive backs (94, up from 91) and holds No. 1 on the Two-Way board (92, up from 90) after Folsom's 28-21 win at Oak Ridge, where he caught two touchdown passes, made eight tackles and broke up five passes. CJ Wallace IV of Folsom is also at 94 at defensive back; Folsom has not posted its Week 10 box score, so Wallace, EJ Coleman, Nick Wegner and every other Folsom player is rated on one fewer game than the Oak Ridge side of the same field.
New No. 1 at linebacker. Julian "JuJu" Bruno of Grant moves from No. 3 to No. 1 (92, up from 91) after 10 tackles, two tackles for loss and half a sack in Grant's 28-27 loss to Destiny Christian. Jayden Lewis of Saint Francis is No. 2 and Jason Taormino of Whitney is No. 3, both at 92. Taormino moves up two places on 13 tackles, two for loss, a sack and a forced fumble against Rocklin, and he moves from No. 8 to No. 4 on the Two-Way board.
Juju Hernandez, Tulare Western, moves to No. 2 at quarterback (92, up from 90) after a 35-of-44, 466-yard, six-touchdown night against Central Valley Christian. Jelani Dippel of Central East holds No. 1 at 93 after 355 passing yards and three touchdowns on 22 attempts, plus 68 rushing yards, in Central East's 69-38 win over Buchanan.
Central East's defense climbs. Cameron Smith moves into the Top 10 at No. 5 among defensive backs (91, up from 85) on 14 tackles and three tackles for loss against Buchanan, and Zachary Goodwin moves into the Top 10 at No. 7 among linebackers (91, up from 87) on eight tackles and two and a half for loss.
Logan Miller, Whitney, moves from No. 8 to No. 4 at tight end (90, up from 86) on five catches for 95 yards against Rocklin, and from No. 3 to No. 2 on the Two-Way board (90, up from 88).
Brennen Gibbs of Del Oro holds No. 1 at wide receiver at 95 after two receiving touchdowns, a rushing touchdown and 144 yards from scrimmage in the 42-14 win over Granite Bay, and he enters the Two-Way board at No. 3 (89). Teammate Chase Carmazzi moves into the Top 10 at No. 7 at wide receiver (92, up from 91).
Four more new names in the Top 10s. Adonyae Brown of Archbishop Riordan enters at No. 7 among running backs (90) after 145 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries against Archbishop Mitty. Jack Riedy of St. Ignatius enters at No. 5 among linebackers (91) on 10 tackles and three for loss against Bellarmine, and teammate Will Cahan enters at No. 7 on the defensive line (92). Bradley Duncan of Whitney moves into the Top 10 at No. 10 at quarterback (87).
Coaches, post your box scores. POP can only count what gets recorded. Fewer than half of Northern California team-games from Oct. 15 to 17 had a full box score in when this week's numbers were run. Folsom, Clovis, Clovis West, Archbishop Mitty, Lincoln of Stockton and Menlo-Atherton did not post their Week 10 box score while their opponent did; Buchanan, Monte Vista, Granite Bay, Redwood of Visalia and Windsor posted offense only; neither side posted for Cardinal Newman's win over Marin Catholic. Serra of San Mateo, the No. 4 team on the SPIN NorCal Top 10, has not posted 2026 player stats at all, so no Serra player can be rated. When a program posts no box score, or logs only part of what its players did, those players lose credit for work they actually did. Post full box scores, offense and defense, every week. If a stat is wrong, tell us and show us; the corrected rating shows on the next board.

How to read the number
A POP rating runs 25 to 99 on one national scale, so a 93 in Northern California means the same thing as a 93 in Utah or Southern California. GP is games with a posted stat line. Two-Way players must be rated on an offensive board and a defensive board; the Two-Way number is built from both sides.
