Corner Canyon and American Fork Are Both 6-2. Thursday's Loser Falls Two Games Behind Skyridge.

No. 78 Corner Canyon goes to American Fork on Thursday night in Region 3, with Skyridge sitting at 3-0 on a bye.

The best game in Utah this week is Thursday night in American Fork.

Corner Canyon and American Fork are both 6-2 and both 1-1 in Region 3. Skyridge is 3-0 and has a bye this week. Whoever loses Thursday falls to 1-2, two games behind the Falcons with one region game left.

Kickoff is 7:00 PM Mountain at American Fork.

Corner Canyon

Corner Canyon has lost twice, both on the road. Liberty of Peoria, second on our Arizona board, beat it 38-24 on September 4. Skyridge beat it 37-27 on September 25 and returned two interceptions for touchdowns.

Everything else has been lopsided. Corner Canyon won 51-14 at Davis in Sutera's first game, beat Lone Peak 37-14 and beat Cedar Valley 56-0 last week. Quarterback Jaxon Pehrson accounted for three touchdowns against Lone Peak.

American Fork

American Fork lost 20-19 at home to Lehi last Friday. Zeke Clements caught a touchdown pass from Briggs Jensen with 1:01 left.

A week earlier the Cavemen won 28-24 at Lone Peak on Cash Taiese's third touchdown catch of the night, with 19 seconds to play. Sophomore quarterback Jake Matsen threw four touchdown passes in that game. American Fork's other loss was 31-11 at Mater Dei, 20th on the SPIN Power 100, in August.

Three common opponents

Corner Canyon beat Davis, Timpview and Lone Peak by 37, 33 and 23 points. American Fork beat the same three teams by eight, two and four.

Corner Canyon won last season's meeting 37-21 in Draper on October 9, 2025.

What Thursday does

The winner moves to 2-1 in Region 3 and stays in range of Skyridge. Next Wednesday, October 14, Corner Canyon hosts Lehi and American Fork goes to Skyridge.

On Thursday, Lone Peak also plays at Lehi and Orem plays at Payson. Mountain Ridge, first in Utah, plays Friday at Bingham.

American Fork has played three straight one-score games. Corner Canyon has not played one all season.
