The Rotation is our pick of the top regional games outside our Games of the Week. This week it has four, and all four are Friday night.
The cover belongs to our Out West Game of the Week, No. 35 Orange Lutheran at No. 13 St. John Bosco, 7:00 PM Pacific at Panish Family Stadium in Bellflower. Last November, Orange Lutheran won 20-19 on that field as the No. 8 seed in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.

Central East, Mater Dei and Hamilton are on the SPIN Power 100, and those numbers are national. Liberty and Coronado carry their Nevada ranks.
Clovis at Central East
Central East is 5-0 and third on our NorCal board. It opened Tri-River Athletic Conference play last week with a 42-13 win over Clovis North. Quarterback Jelani Dippel threw three touchdown passes that night, two of them to Fresno State commit Relando Jefferson IV, according to KMPH.
Clovis is 4-2 and 0-1 in the league after a 49-42 loss at Buchanan. Central East beat Clovis 61-49 last season.
Mater Dei at JSerra
Both teams are 4-2 and 0-1 in the Trinity League, so the loser falls to 0-2. Mater Dei lost 14-7 to Santa Margarita last week, and JSerra lost 40-14 at St. John Bosco in its first league game under first-year coach Hardy Nickerson. Kickoff is 7:00 PM Pacific at JSerra.
Liberty at Coronado
Both teams are 3-0 against Division I East League opponents, and both have already qualified for the Superintendents Cup, the Clark County School District's in-season tournament. The winner is the East's No. 1 seed and hosts the winner of Centennial and Shadow Ridge on October 16. The loser plays at Arbor View, according to the Review-Journal.
Coronado is 6-1 and has won six straight since a 7-0 loss at Centennial of Las Vegas in its opener. Liberty is 5-2, and both of its losses came against teams on the SPIN Power 100, Mililani of Hawaii and Skyridge of Utah.
Hamilton at Valley Vista
Hamilton is 5-0, first on our Arizona board and 21st nationally, and Friday is its 6A region opener. The AIA schedule lists kickoff at 6:00 PM Arizona time. Next week it goes to Pinnacle, fourth on our Arizona board.
Every score goes up on our scores page as it goes final.
