Mountain Ridge 42, Davis 7. Utah's No. 2 hosted Utah's No. 6 in Herriman and made it look routine. Mountain Ridge has now scored 41, 42 and 42.
Red Mountain 35, Casteel 34. Arizona's No. 10 went to Queen Creek and won by a point on CW7 in the opening game of the Fiesta Bowl showdown slate. Casteel is not on our Arizona board. It came within a play of putting Red Mountain off it.
Utah
Corner Canyon 49, Fremont 0. Jaxon Pehrson threw five touchdown passes and the UHSAA's 44-point rule ended it. Corner Canyon is 3-0 and has not been within four scores of anybody.
Lone Peak 45, Skyline 3. Nothing to argue with there.
Herriman 55, West Jordan 7. Utah's No. 10 answered the question its ranking asks every week.
Ridgeline 52, Brighton 24. Ridgeline scored 52 at home in Millville.
American Fork 28, Timpview 26. Timpview came off the Utah board on Monday and had a chance to put itself straight back on. It lost by two in Provo instead. This is the Utah result Monday's board has to reckon with.
West 21, Archbishop Riordan 13. The only game this week putting two SPIN regional boards on the same field. West held Riordan scoreless in the second half.
NorCal
De La Salle 35, Serra 25. NorCal's No. 1 trailed its No. 3 after a quarter and scored 14 in the fourth to finish it at Freitas Field.
Folsom 23, Cardinal Newman 17, overtime. Folsom blocked two kicks, one of them a 37-yard field goal that would have won it in regulation, and Brody Rudnicki took five straight direct snaps in the extra period.
Oak Ridge 27, Argyle 26. NorCal went to Texas and won by a point in Argyle's new stadium. That is the road trip of the week for this region.
Pittsburg 40, Monterey Trail 7. Comfortable.
Central East 42, Grant 12. NorCal's No. 5 hosted its No. 8 at Deran Koligian Stadium in Fresno and won by 30.
St. Mary's 27, Bishop Manogue 7. Stockton went to Reno and held a Nevada program to a touchdown.
Homedale 33, Central Catholic 21. Modesto travelled to Idaho and lost. The one NorCal board result that went the wrong way.
SoCal
Santa Margarita 21, Centennial 20. SoCal's No. 1 beat its No. 2 by a point in Corona, on a pick-six with the third quarter expiring and an extra point that hit the upright. It is the fourth straight time Santa Margarita has taken this matchup.
St. John Bosco 45, Roman Catholic 25. Thirty-one points in the second quarter, four touchdowns for Maliq Allen.
Mission Viejo 77, St. Paul 12. The widest margin any SPIN board team produced this week.
Servite 42, Murrieta Valley 10. Servite's first win of the season after opening at Centennial.
Orange Lutheran 38, Cathedral Catholic 24. SoCal's No. 9 opened against its No. 7 in San Diego and won by 14. That is a board move waiting to happen.
Nevada
Legacy 41, Reed 37. Four points in North Las Vegas, the tightest Nevada game of the night.
Palo Verde 42, Desert Oasis 18.
Foothill 28, Spanish Springs 24. Henderson went north to Sparks and won by four.
Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon 35, John Muir 20. A Pasadena program came east and lost by 15.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas 26, Victor Valley 7.
Valor Christian 46, Faith Lutheran 9. Faith Lutheran went to Highlands Ranch and was beaten by 37. The worst Nevada board result of the week by a distance.
Churchill County at South Tahoe remains unresolved. Our sources do not agree on the score and we are not going to guess at one. It stays off the board until they do.
Arizona
Mountain View 63, Las Vegas 0. A Nevada program went to Mesa and did not score.
Liberty 58, Mesa 18. Peoria by 40.
Our Arizona board is dated Aug. 18 and is being rebuilt this week. Two nights like these are exactly why.
