North Crowley

North Crowley went 16-0 and won the 6A Division I state title in 2024. Last season it lost 33-21 to Allen in the regional final. Allen is eighth on our board this week.

Harris took over in January after Ray Gates left for the North Texas staff. His team shut out Aledo in its opener, beat Southlake Carroll, 67th on our board, 40-10, and won 47-30 at Duncanville.

Running back G'yrell Smith, a North Texas commit, ran for 170 yards and three touchdowns at Duncanville and has 484 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season, according to The Dallas Morning News. Quarterback Jacob Torres has thrown for 877 yards and nine touchdowns.

Waxahachie

Waxahachie has scored at least 44 points in four of its five games. The exception was a 27-24 win over Coppell on September 4, decided by a late touchdown.

Quarterback Jerry Meyer III, a South Carolina commit, has thrown 16 touchdown passes, four of them in the 61-14 win over Dallas Skyline on September 24. Running back Taylen Strange has 12 rushing touchdowns, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Waxahachie lost 35-27 to Duncanville in last season's regional final. Its only state title came in 1992.

What Friday does

Both seasons ended in a regional final last year. On Friday one of these teams loses for the first time this season, and the winner takes the lead in District 11-6A.

One defense allows 14.8 points a game. One offense scores 53.4. Something gives in Waxahachie.
