Oak Ridge holds fifth
Oak Ridge lost 20-17 at home on Friday to Tabor Academy, which flew in from Massachusetts. Oak Ridge is 4-2, with losses to Central East and Tabor, and it holds fifth. A three-point loss to a good team does not move a team off its seat, and Tabor is a good team.

Buchanan moves up to eighth
Buchanan won 45-28 at Clovis West and is 6-1. It beat Clovis 49-42 the week before, and it moves up to eighth. Grant won 57-0 at McClatchy, is 5-1, and is ninth. Its only loss is to Central East.
Pittsburg beat Liberty of Brentwood 41-19 and is 3-3. It drops two places to 10th. Its October 2 loss was to Los Gatos by a point, and Los Gatos is not on this board.
Central Catholic of Modesto is 6-1 and is the first team out.
